Mission Statement
We, the Benedictine Sisters of Elk County, believe that we are called to seek God and witness Jesus Christ through prayer, community life, hospitality, and service. We are dedicated to fostering spirituality, supporting education and being wise stewards of God's creation.
Our Junior Sisters with Bishop Trautman
of the Erie Diocese.
History
The Sisters came to America from Eichstatt, Germany on July 22,1852. Since that time the Sisters have branched out, founding eight daughter houses. The community members are currently engaged in art, music, and elementary education, in assisted living programs, in ceramics, in operating a religious goods store, and in a variety of other ministries. Presently, candidates who are over the age of 18 are accepted for membership.
